Life with a baby is more work than any one will ever be able to
explain. Which is probably a good thing, otherwise no one would ever
have kids. It's hard, grueling work...but there's nothing more
wonderful than the face of this tiny little person learning from
scratch to be brave, and smart and independent day by day.
As a first-time father I'm learning right along with her. It's the
coolest thing I've ever done. And very likely the coolest thing I'll
ever do. Grace is teething, which means she's a bit on the weepy
side. She's learning certain words. "Grace," "Gentle," "Bottle,"
"Diaper," and "Mama & Daddy" are her current most recognized. Oh,
and "nap," she knows what nap means.
She's eating regular foods like, carrots, peas, noodles, (Morning Star Veggie patties and links) crackers and peaches.
I take her swimming at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays and my wife,
Jaime takes her on Saturdays. She likes the water and seeing the
other babies in her class. She's 11 months old now and her birthday is
September 8.
We just found out that Jaime is pregnant with baby number 2. Yikes! It's
official. I'm a family man now! I don't know where I'll find the
strength. I also wonder how Grace will get along having to share her
Mommy and Daddy's attention all of a sudden. I guess we'll all figure
it out when the time comes.
The thing is, I stay home unless I'm auditioning or shooting a
commercial or TV show, so it's me and Grace while Mommy works days. We
get along very well, but it's hard. I think the first thing we'll do is
add some extra days to our 2 day a week Nanny (who Grace loves.)
Anyway...that's the latest. Your prayers are always welcome.
