Jackson Chase & Grace...
Or, How to bring home a new born and not upset your 19 month old Princess. We basically enlisted a pair of willing loved ones with some time on their hands and some frequent flyer miles to kill.

First let me acknowledge my best friend and bachelor Owen Smith who came over at 5 A.M. to watch Grace when My wife went into labor. Owen was kind enough to sleep on the sofa until our beloved and amazing Nanny Elody arrived at 7 A.M.

Elody stayed over for a 32 hour workday after Jaime went into labor. Elody has been our trust Nanny since Grace was 5 months old. She stayed until Kelly (Jaime's best friend from when they were kids) showed up to take care of Grace.  Luckily Grace loves Kelly, who has 2 girls of her own, 7 and 4 years old.

My wife had a C-section, which made these volunteers such a wonderful blessing.

About 4 days after Kelly left, Jaime's brother John came and picked up the slack with Grace. She really liked hanging out with him too. John is married, without children. It was good for him to spend time with his niece. Because he lives in Virginia and we live in Los Angeles. She's still blurting Uncle John and he's been gone for 3 days.

Anyway... I think the constant stimulation of these new personalities help greatly in keeping Grace from feeling too insecure about her new sibling.

She was having fun with too new visitors who really liked to play. And now that there gone and it's just us again, plus one, she's very pro baby brother Jackson Chase.  I think she's going to be an awesome big sister.

Since Chase was born, I shot my second Hyundai Car commercial, got a call from a long lost friend Ali Leroi, who now writes for Chris Rock. (See HEAD OF STATE). Ali might have some work for me on an upcoming TV show, God Willing. And last but not least, we are in escrow on our very first house as of Sunday.

Life is good. With all this love who needs sleep.
