Being a step-father instantly puts me in a diverse family. My
wife's last name is different from mine. My step-children's last
name is different from my own. But, there is an advantage. It is
easier to explain this concept of diversity.
Recently, when I bought some food from the Kentucky Fried Chicken
fast-food outlet, I got some toys with the package deal. When I
got home, one of my kids went for the drumstick and another for the
toy. Then, one took the coleslaw while another clamored for the
mashed potato. Such different needs, lend itself to diversity.
So, it is nice in a way to have a diverse family. There is always
some thing for some one. I guess that, the trouble starts
when everyone goes for the same thing. So, hang on to your mixed
family. In diversity, we prosper!
